Marwood's Fall is a hard rock band from the greater Chicago area. The band started in 2009 when brothers Matthew (guitar) and David (vocals) Danaher were introduced to drummer John Eggan through a college friend. The three bonded quickly over shared influences and began writing music and developing their sound. After some early line up changes and recording frustrations, the trio released their first EP, Restitution, in 2013. They were soon joined by friend Ben Peterson (bass) and began playing local Chicago clubs, suburban venues, and shows around the midwest.

After performing at some of Chicago's most revered rock venues, including the House of Blues and the iconic Metro, the band spent the latter part of 2015 recording their sophomore EP, Judgement Is Coming, at Always Be Genius studios with producer Seth Henderson. The EP was released in May of 2016 and represents a huge step forward in both writing and performance quality. Judgement explores a range of themes from the driving single "Ararat", an apocalyptic song with overtones of Tool and the Deftones to the hopeful and poignant finale, "Nero", which sounds more like Breaking Benjamin and gives a subtle nod to Queen. Marwood's Fall is back performing around Chicago and seeking opportunities to share their music with a wider audience.

We are an independent, hard rock band from the city of broad shoulders. Every song we write and every show we play reflects the great passion we have for music. Our hope is simply to continue to write good songs and to share them with as many people as would care to listen.

Ben grew up in Minnesota in the greater Twin Cities area, playing Scottish highland bagpipes at a high level from a very young age. He began playing bass in college and found his way to Chicago after graduating. In addition to playing bass for Marwood's Fall, Ben holds a leadership position in an internationally competitive bagpipe band.

Ben's greatest musical influences include Rush, Death Cab for Cutie, and Between the Buried and Me.

Ben Plays:

Bass: Ibanez ATK800E Premium 4-String

Head: Ashdown ABM 900 EVO III

Cab: MarkBass Classic 108 8x10

Effects: Peterson VSS-C Stomp Classic Strobotuner, MarkBass Compressore, Boss DD-3 Digital Delay, Darkglass Microtubes B7K, Electro-Harmonix Bass Big Muff, iSP Technology Decimator II

David grew up in Chicago's southwest suburbs and began playing the piano around age seven. Though he began writing original music on the piano in high school, David did not begin singing until he was in college. He quickly became very passionate about learning to sing and has worked to develop his vocal talent through classical vocal training. David's background also includes Scottish highland bagpiping and traditional Irish fiddle.

David's main influences include Maynard J. Keenan (Tool), Jesse Lacey (Brand New), and Ben Burnley (Breaking Benjamin), though he also derives some inspiration from less obvious sources including traditional Irish ballads, classical choral music, and Andrew Lloyd Weber.

David Plays:

Mic: Shure Beta 87A

Keys: TonePort KB37 with Apple Mainstage

John grew up in the north suburbs of Chicago. He began playing drums at the age of ten and also played the piano as a child. From an early age, John knew he wanted to pursue music professionally, and he earned a B.A. in music production and performance from Millikin University.

John's greatest influences include Metallica, Tool, Dave Matthews Band, Killswitch Engage, and Periphery.

John Plays:

Drums: Tama

Cymbals: Sabian

Heads: Evans

Sticks: Vic Firth

Growing up in the Chicago area, Matt began playing the piano around the age of six. While his foremost passion is playing heavy riffs and complex solos on his PRS, his ecclectic musical background also includes bluegrass mandolin, Scottish snare drumming, and traditional Irish guitar. In addition to Marwood's Fall, Matt plays in the Chicago-based folk band, Little Family Band.

Matt's main influences include Thrice, Killswitch Engage, Deftones, and Tool.
